i am grateful, even when it hurts.

In this season of transition, it has been far too easy for me to lose sight of God's blessings. Uncertainty freaks me out and yes, God is still working on me and the control issues I try to stuff down ... unsuccessfully. In my sinful state, I think that I have a say in how things go in my life yet I hear Him whisper regularly into my heart "daughter, I've GOT this."

It reminds me of this:

I know it's long but it's powerful, isn't it? I want to be more like Him. I want to surrender my will for His because His is way better than anything I can come up with. I want to know what He has planned for us but I do trust that it's good. Even if it stretches us and grows us because that means He's just chiseling us to look more like Christ and isn't that the point?

Something that has helped me to focus on His blessings in my life is this iPhone app, believe it or not. *smile* If you follow me on Instagram, I'm sure you've seen my #gratitudejournal entries.

I simply write five things I'm thankful and grateful for and you know what? It helps me to reset my viewfinder on the important things and even some of the small silly things that bring me joy in the middle of this season of stretching.

If you need an extra dose of happy or a quick reminder to be thankful, click on that #gratitudejournal hash tag. Reading through the things that others are grateful for can't help but put a little smile on your face. You're welcome. *wink*

You know who else I'm grateful for? Monique of The Lemonade Diaries. She has been an amazing encourager and supporter of mine for many months and is a returning sponsor this month!

Tell us about yourself ...

I'm a wife and momma to 2 super cute kids--a funny 9 yr old son and a spunky 15 month little girl. I love all things French and anything that is teal. When I am not making headbands for my shop, I am working on homework, sewing, reading or spending time with my family.

What is the meaning behind your blog name?

Although I absolutely love lemonade, especially strawberry lemonade, my blog name has nothing to do with it. In the past, when life threw me “lemons”, I normally did not handle it very well. I would get upset, pout and ask God “why?!”. But when I became a momma at 21, I realized I had to grow up and be an example to my little boy. I couldn’t get all upset just because things did not go my way.

Instead, I am learning to embrace the “lemons” and all the crazy that comes with it. I'm not perfect, sometimes I still ask “why”, but more often than not, I find myself asking “what is God trying to teach me”. And so, I am “drinking up the lemons of life, one sip at a time”.

What is your favorite post that you've written?

What is one of the biggest dreams you have for your family?

One of my goals right now is grow and build up my shop so that I do not have work part-time and that I can be a full-fledged stay at home momma.

What is your favorite part about autumn?

I love bundling up in cozy sweaters and drinking hot chocolate.

Monique will be adding a new line of products to her shop on Thursday and you can use mama15 for 15% off everything in her adorable shop!

Tell me: what is one thing you're grateful for today?

I am thankful for my husband - He is my helper, he encourages me, supports me through everything, brings out the best in me, he is a great father, and the bestest friend I have in this world.

What an incredible app! It's a great way to remind ourselves of all the good in our lives when things aren't going the way we've planned. Hope you are having a great day... And I am right there with you with "control issues"... :) Love you!
