If you follow me on Instagram or twitter, you know that we transitioned N to her big girl room this weekend. She's been asking for a big girl bed for weeks and had even picked it out at IKEA so she was so excited when we told her she was finally getting it! I'll post a full reveal later this coming week, once her wall art and a few other small projects are done. *wink*
I want to introduce you to N's new friend, Dolly. This adorable little flapper baby doll was made by Aubrey of Aubrey Plays, my friend and creative genius. When she offered to make this sweet new design of hers out of something that N had outgrown, I literally cried. Isn't that so sweet?
Since Dolly arrived, I've found her sitting just so around the house and now that N has more places to tuck things away in her new room, I've found her on her new bed, her desk chair, and her bookshelf. Dolly has been well-loved, well-hugged, and N just loves her.
A little about Aubrey and her new product, in her own words ...
Hi there, Mama Marchand peeps!
I am Aubrey. Mama to 3 (not so little anymore) monsters.
I am also the gal behind a little shop called aubreyplays where I make happy things for happy people! My newest project has come about from seeing my babes grow, and always feeling a little bit sad about having all their things sit all alone in a closet after they are finished with them, but not having the heart to ever let them go.
That is where my idea for my "flapper babies" came from.
Inspired by that era, these dolls are made out of an item that your little has outgrown! You mail me an item, and I turn it into an irresistibly charming baby doll to send back to you (and hopefully your little) to play with! I am so excited about these because I have since the beginning, always wanted to offer something sentimental like this in my shop, but never could pin point exactly WHAT until my flapper inspiration hit!
I have to admit, now I am simply smitten with these babies. It makes me so happy to save those items from the isolation of a closet and to see some on a daily basis. (I know, sappy mama thoughts.... I can't be all alone on this though. Can I ?!?) (Tricia: Oh no - you're not alone! *tear*)
So anyway, thanks for listening to me ramble over here today. I have lots of other fun things in the shop too (no sap required) So, I really hope to that you will stop by and say hi soon!
