This past week, I saw tweets and statuses that lamented over how horrible the week was and I nodded my head in agreement with all of them. It was long and mundane, wasn't it? Funny how the end of the month always seems to come around and our calendars are packed and our moods just plain stink.
I'm thankful for this long weekend, not only because that means more time with the hubs and N but because we are celebrating the men and women who have given their lives in service to our country while protecting and defending our freedom. The men and women who don't complain when they have to endure the heat, the cold, and the bad MREs. The military personnel who have to endure months abroad without their families and do it because they feel called to a higher calling. The moms and dads who willingly jump into the line of fire and see their own fall - they don't whine about the things that I did this past week.
It's humbling and it certainly puts life into perspective.
So, let's enjoy this three day weekend but at the same time, let's remember to celebrate those incredible Americans who picked up their guns, packed up their rucksacks, and trudged forth to defend us.
